Many thanks to the organisers and in particular, Mr Paul Williams (FEI L3 course builder), Ellen Wilson and Debra Collins (EA accredited judges), Foster Show Committee (for loan of extra showjump wings), Bennison ARC (for loan of extra poles), and the Stone family and Mal Jones (for their generously donated raffle prizes). Congratulations to all of the competitors.

60th Anniversary Celebrations

60th Anniversary Year attendees

2022 marked the 60th anniversary of Corner Inlet Pony Club's formation and affiliation with the Pony Club Association of Victoria.
In 1961, local girl Kate McKinney (now Crowl) had the idea that the area needed a pony club, so she placed an advert in the local paper to guage interest. With enough local interest and her father's help, club activities soon commenced at the Foster Showgrounds. After ten years of growth, thanks to the support and volunteer efforts of many local families, the club moved to the Bennison Reserve.
Now, 60 years on from Kate's vision, the club is a strong, family oriented community where children enjoy riding and learning to care for their horses and ponies.
On Sunday 13 March 2022 members and families, past and present, travelled from Fitzroy, Heyfield, Sale, Traralgon, Cape Woolami, Leongatha, Bairnsdale and Wonthaggi to join locals in a day of wonderful celebration and reminiscing. An extensive display of newspaper clippings, photographs, old prizes and event programs, ribbons and projects attracted lots of interest and sharing of rekindled memories.
The 60th Anniversary Quiz had young and old scouring rule books and display boards for answers to 25 questions, a real test of equestrian knowledge.
The day ended with a mounted games demonstration by current CIPC riders.
"It was lovely to see so many Life Members in attendance" said reunion organiser Deb Collins "and to be able to put faces to names of past riding members who had contributed so much to the club. Thank you to everyone who came along to help CIPC celebrate this milestone."
